DECLAN FRANCIS
Declan just wanted to be a rapper. That’s all. Somehow he ended up with an unfinished law degree, a masters in theatre, and a hyper-casualised job as a removalist. He writes rhymes on the bus and hopes to one day feature on a Bliss n Eso tribute album. Until then, most of his energy goes into worrying desperately about the state of humanity and the environment. His play BIGHOUSE DREAMING won three awards in Melbourne Fringe 2018 including Best Performance and Best Emerging Indigenous Artist. He is currently Writer in Residence at Melbourne Theatre Company. Declan is an Arrernte First Nations man from Mparntwe.
