Vibe technician, d-Rektional, intrepid sonic dimension explorer, manipulator of sound and enhancer of perceptions, Derek Shiel aka d-Rektional has been part of our Melbourne Techno scene since 1994 – as one half of live acid techno duo TR STORM.” d-Rek”has covered warehouse parties, festivals, and clubs throughout Victoria, and up and down the entire Eastern Seaboard including RSF, FRL, Earthdance, even as far as Kuala Lumpa.
For years performed with sequenced electronics and freestyle turntables, released a live album and studio EP. Whilst he is most comfortable playing chill out and downbeat experimental DJ and live sets, this year d-Rektional is summoning his production skills, exploring the dance floor with breaks and techno inspired from sounds from outdoor festivals and the gathering of people in nature, manifested a solid groove and flying frequencies.
